Daimler Truck North America Announces Key Leadership Changes

Daimler Truck North America is making two key leadership changes this month.

as president and CEO of Daimler Truck Financial Services North America, effective Sept. 1, while president and CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. and Thomas Built Buses, starting Sept. 9.

Bangston, who previously led FCCC and Thomas Built, was announced as the new head of Daimler Truck Financial Services on July 31. He replaces Richard Howard, who retired.



Bangston has more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry and began his career at DTNA in corporate finance in 2001. He has held leadership roles in Germany, Indonesia and Japan.

Reed, stepping in as Bangston鈥檚 successor at FCCC and Thomas Built, brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the role. Reed has held various leadership positions at DTNA since 1998, most recently serving as president of Daimler Truck Remarketing and the SelecTrucks brand. His expertise spans product marketing, pricing, and profit and loss responsibilities.

Reed鈥檚 time outside DTNA includes a stint at Meritor Inc., where he led global business development for electrification, an area of growing importance in the industry. The company said his deep knowledge of both traditional and emerging vehicle technologies positions him well to lead FCCC and TBB as they navigate the shift toward alternative-fuel solutions.

O鈥橪eary expressed confidence in Reed鈥檚 leadership, noting, 鈥淲ith his vision and holistic approach to operations, he will be a valuable asset to these already strong businesses 鈥 and help continue to pave the way to sustainable transportation.鈥
