Ernie Budlowski claims Straight Truck title, Grand Champion Honors at Connecticut TDC

Ernie Budlowski of XPO Logistics drove straight to the Straight Truck title en route to claiming Grand Champion honors in the Connecticut Truck Driving Championships in Windsor Locks on June 8.

Budlowski will be joined by eight other class winners at the National Truck Driving Championships in Pittsburgh on Aug. 14-17.

The 70th running of the competition was held at the FedEx Freight facility, where it has been for the past 10 years with one exception: The 2015 TDC was staged at the New England Tractor Trailer Training School.

Preview: Mark McClure of Domino's Pizza will take aim at his fourth consecutive class title and second straight trip to the National Truck Driving Championships when a field of 42 takes the course at the FedEx Freight Facility in Windsor Locks on June 8.

McClure, driving for Domino's Supply Chain, won in Sleeper Berth in 2016-17 before winning it all last year in 5-Axle. The competition has been at the same site every year but once for the past decade.

2018 Recap

After placing first in the Sleeper Berth division in the Connecticut State Truck Driving Championships in 2016-17, Mark McClure came back in 2018 to win it all.

McClure drives for Domino's Supply Chain based in East Granby.

This year, McClure competed in the 5-Axle category and came out on top. He is headed to the National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio, in August with another trophy to mark his continued success.

In 2015, McClure was a member of the Domino's Supply Chain team champion.Ìý
