North American Class 8 truck orders ended three months of year-over-year declines with a slight rise in September, according to ACT Research.

March is the only month that hasn't shown a year-over-year increase in Class 8 truck orders. 

North American Class 8 truck orders experienced a year-over-year increase for the second month in a row during June, ACT Research reported.

Preliminary North American Class 8 orders in February came in at 21,000, or essentially even with January’s volume but less than half of what buyers ordered a year earlier, ACT Research reported, citing truck makers’ initial data.

Class 8 orders in November dropped to 27,900, marking the first year-over-year decline in 2018, ACT Research Co. reported, citing preliminary data.

Class 8 orders in July set an all-time monthly high, soaring past 52,000 and breaking a 12-year-old mark amid a crush of demand.

Orders for new Class 8 trucks more than doubled last month versus year-ago levels, according to preliminary data from ACT Research.

Class 8 orders in April cleared 34,000, while the swollen backlog from months of strong demand kept them from going even higher, according to ACT Research Co., and others pointed to a parts supply chain under strain.

North American Class 8 orders in December rolled past 37,000 and improved 75% year-over-year, ACT Research Co. reported.
