The national average diesel price continued its steady descent, shedding 4.8 cents to reach $3.828 a gallon, according to data released Jan. 8.

  • Diesel’s average price has started the new year with consecutive declines totaling 8.6 cents. Overall, trucking’s main fuel has fallen in cost 10 of the past 11 weeks.
