Nikola began production of the Tre hydrogen fuel cell electric truck July 31 at its Coolidge, Ariz., factory, the company said.

Daimler Truck posted a net profit of $1.101 billion in the three months that ended June 30, compared with $1.037 billion in the year-ago period, the company said Aug. 1.

Saia Inc. posted net income of $91.3 million in the second quarter of 2023, compared with $109.2 million in the same period a year earlier, the less-than-truckload carrier said.

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. profits fell 22.3% year-over-year to $292.4 million in the second quarter of 2023 from $376.1 million in the year-ago period, it said.

ArcBest posted lower earnings and revenue on weaker demand for the second quarter, the Fort Smith, Ark.-based carrier announced July 28. 

Allison Transmission Holdings Inc. reported net income of $175 million in the second quarter of 2023, up 43% compared with $122 million in the same period a year earlier, the company said.

Carrier Global Corp. reported a narrowed second-quarter profit of $199 million, down from $573 million in the year-ago period.

Carrier Transicold is rolling out two additional models in its Vector trailer refrigeration product line, the company said.  

United Rentals Inc. reported net income of $591 million in the second quarter of 2023, an increase of 19.9% from $493 million in the year-ago period, the company said.

Ryder System Inc. posted an $18 million loss in the second quarter of 2023, compared with a profit of $239 million in the year-ago period.
