The national average diesel price continued its steady ascent, rising 9.3 cents to reach $4.633 a gallon, according to Energy Information Administration data released Sept. 18.

Diesel prices climbed for the seventh week in a row, although the increase was a modest 1.7 cents a gallon nationally.
