Kansas City Southern, the smallest of the Class 1 railroads in North America, reported record fourth-quarter and full-year 2018 financial results on Jan. 18.

Kansas City Southern on Oct. 19 reported record revenue for the third quarter, buoyed by a 17% increase in chemical and petroleum products and an 8% jump in automotive and intermodal shipments.

Kansas City Southern reported net income in the second quarter of $148.7 million, or $1.45 a share, compared with $134.7 million, or $1.27 a share, in the same period a year ago.
