Nearly six months into the Houthis’ relentless campaign to protest Israel’s war in Gaza, the economic fallout is widening.

The Houthi group based in Yemen threatened to start trying to attack ships in the eastern Mediterranean as it steps up a campaign of anti-Israeli assaults.

JERUSALEM — A containership came under attack by a drone in the far reaches of the Arabian Sea, corresponding with a claim by Yemen’s Houthi rebels that they assaulted the ship there.

For all the costly hardware the U.S. and its allies have thrown at the Houthis from Yemen, they haven’t been able to stop the attacks on civilian freighters and warships in the Red Sea.
