With Pony’s offering, Chinese companies have raised $1.2 billion via U.S. IPOs this year, nearly double the amount in the same period in 2023 but below the heights seen during the pandemic.

In a May 15 email sent to Tesla representatives, an NHTSA official flagged seven social media posts that gave the agency pause.

The enforcement action stems from an October 2023 incident in San Francisco in which a Cruise robotaxi dragged a pedestrian about 20 feet before coming to a complete stop.

His new venture — Bot Auto — will operate its own autonomous truck fleet and offer Transportation-as-a-Service to freight customers.
