It also announced a new app with the National Association of Truck Stop Owners to address one of those issues: parking.

Logistics provider TransPlace’s carrier survey of preparedness for the 2017 electronic logging device mandate has found a sharp divide between larger and smaller fleets, with 38% of smaller fleets having no immediate plans to install ELDs in their vehicles.

In a brief filed with a federal appeals court, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration defended a legal challenge to the agency’s electronic logging device rule by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.

Carriers that haven’t yet implemented electronic driver logs will be sifting through a plethora of different hardware and software options as they plan how to comply with the upcoming federal mandate of the technology.
